The fruits of an odd conversation

A friend of mine was killing time on Google Earth and happened to notice something odd when he zoomed in on the South Pole. It was just an rendering artifact, but this got him thinking. The two of us then began developing the back-story behind its existence and soon developed a new history of humanity. I will not go into too much detail as that will take away from the story as a whole. So here is the fruits of our conversation and his discovery. You should also take some time to read the rest of his blog as he has a great sense of humor which he uses in his unique take on the world, one of the many reasons we get along so well, as well as his opinions on theology.
